About This Air/Oil Separator Element
The air/oil separator element is the central consumable in an oil-injected rotary screw compressor. Compressed air leaves the airend carrying a heavy mist of oil; the separator coalesces that mist into droplets, returns them to the oil circuit, and releases air with residual oil content typically below 3 ppm. When the element ages, differential pressure rises and oil carry-over climbs — you see it first as higher energy bills, then as oil at your downstream filters and tools.
